Geosoft has launched a $100,000 Software Giveaway Contest to start a year of celebrations marking its 20th anniversary. “Over the past two decades, we have partnered with customers and leaders in the exploration industries and government Geoscience community to extend the limits of earth data discovery and exploration, through technology, software and service innovation, and continuous investment in research, development and understanding customer needs”, said Tim Dobush, Geosoft CEO.

Geosoft says its success is based on organic growth, investment in global operations and its ability to identify and develop innovative technology for large, earth data needs. Since it’s inception in December 1986, the company has grown from a small start-up business to a global software company and Geosciences industry leader, with over 70 employees working out of five offices worldwide. Geosoft ranks among the top 100 software companies in Canada, providing software and services in over 100 countries around the world.

To celebrate, Geosoft has launched an international $100,000 Software Contest. The contest will run from February to December, 2006 and will provide monthly opportunities to win one Geosoft software product. Winners will be able to select from the company’s industry-standard Oasis montaj mapping system, Target or Target for ArcGIS geology software products. “In our 20th year, we invite all of our customers to join in celebrating our anniversary, by participating in our International Software Contest and other activities we have planned as part of our anniversary,” said Dobush. “Our customers are the reason we are where we are today and we want to reward and thank them for their confidence in Geosoft.”

Today Geosoft’s comprehensive and powerful suite of geophysical, geochemical and geological mapping and exploration software enables the critical decision-making and professional project management necessary for companies involved in exploration and geoscientific investigation to succeed in today’s competitive marketplace.

In recent years Geosoft has extended its technology and service offerings to address the growing challenge of earth data delivery and distribution via data management solutions built on its Geosoft DAP, Metech acQuire and ESRI technologies. Geosoft data management solutions have been successfully deployed in government and major exploration companies around the world. "We are proud of our strong record of growth and partnership” said Dobush, “and attribute our success to the strong relationships we’ve fostered with our customers, and the commitment of our highly skilled and innovative technical, market and business people. We look forward to addressing the rising data needs of geoscientists; enhancing knowledge development; and contributing to productive, professional earth data exploration and investigation for many more years to come."
